flashy technique or good basics for kids karate class
In our kids karate studio, we focus a lot on basics. If the basics are good, later on the more advanced techniques will be easy to learn. We went to a tournament last week, and on of our kids karate students win the tournament with a beginner form. The other competitor perform a more advance kata but our young karate students win with a beginner kata. Same things for sparring, its is possible to win every fight with only 1 good technique. If the kid karate students can used that technique very well with speed, timing, power and precision, the victory will be their. In our dojo, the kids karate students need to train 8 to 10 years to received their black belt.
