teaching sweep for karate kids class this week

Global martial arts Vista is located north of San Diego close to Carlsbad, Oceanside and San Marcos. Every week, for the kids karate class, we teach a new fighting technique. This week the karate kids students will learn how to sweep. First, all karate kid must start with a strike so the opponent have to block it, then the sweep is coming. Generally its always good to try to hide the sweeping technique behind a punch or a kick. Karate kids students must understand the sweep can be apply in offense or defense. Its possible to be unbalance when kids karate students try to apply the sweep because during it, they are only on 1 leg. It is important first to teach during the kids karate class some good basics and good stance so the sweep can be efficient. Kids karate practitioner can start to drill or apply sweep but should be taught at an intermediate level or advance. Its not a technique to teach during a kid karate beginner class.
