why kata is important in kid karate class

At global martial arts Vista, we teach traditional shotokan karate in our kids and teen karate classes. Our karate class for kids and toddlers emphases kata and kumite. Kata means form and kumite means sparring. Kata in our karate dojo teach the karate kid students how to follow direction and focus. Our karate classes for kids in Vista California always start the class with kata and finish the karate class with kata. The 12 years old kid karate students have to perform the kata and understand the application of it. The 6 or 7 years old kid karate students will focus only on memorizing the form with precision speed and power.
