how to defend a side headlock

Global martial arts Vista is a selfdefense center teaching Krav Maga karate and Bjj classes for kids and adults. Our studio is located north of San Diego close to Carlsbad Oceanside and San Marcos. The technique this week for the adults Krav Maga beginner class will be the defense against a side headlock. A good defense is an early defense so as soon as the side headlock start, it’s important to start defending by striking the groin. During Krav Maga classes, the Krav Maga students are getting used to strike vulnerable target like groin, eyes, throat. After the groin strike, the other hands reach the opponent face and apply pressure to the eyes or nose in order to start the escape. That specific technique is rough on the neck so Krav Maga students will have to apply pressure with control. Their is a video to demonstrate the technique. The last part will be to hammer fist to the head or a take down.
